What the numbers are

Expected points, ratings and transfer plans are statistical estimates built from the official Fantasy Premier League data and a model fitted to past seasons. They can be wrong, and injuries or team news announced after a forecast is made are not seen. The forecasts and plans are generated automatically by machine-learning models and an optimiser (AI), not by a person. Nothing here is a promise about how many points a player or squad will score.

How well the models did

Everything we say about how well a model forecast comes from tests on past seasons. Such tests show how a model would have done, not how it will do. The effects we measured from fixture models and player form are small.
